1. The Meaning of Bullying

Bullying is the use of violence, threats, or coercion to abuse or intimidate others. This behavior can become a habit and involve an imbalance in social or physical power. This can include verbal abuse or threats, physical violence or coercion and can be directed repeatedly against certain victims, perhaps on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability.

The act of oppression consists of four types, namely emotional, physical, verbal, and cyber. The culture of oppression can develop anywhere as human interactions occur, starting at school, workplaces, households, and the environment.

2. Causes of Bullying

• Environmental factor
It is undeniable, the environment is the biggest factor in the formation of an attitude. It's true the saying goes that if we hang out with perfume, then we will catch the fragrance. A person who gets along in a bad environment without strong self defense, so he is more likely to be affected by something bad. Conversely someone who gets along in a good environment, the greater the chance of being influenced by something good. So no wonder the environment has become one of the agents of change.
• Media
The media is one of the major contributors to the formation of an attitude. In Indonesia, there are still a lot of shows that do not teach good behavior or good impact for the viewers, moreover the show airs on prime time. A moratorium on impressions in Indonesia is needed. Not just tv, the internet is becoming a fertile field for spreading bad attitudes. The internet that we use so far has not been fully safety, there is still a lot of content that needs to be further investigated so as not to have a bad impact on society.
• Family relationship
Family harmony also affects the formation of one's attitude. If the condition of harmony in a family is bad, then other family members have the potential to seek outlet, one of them by bullying.

B. The impact of bullying in the long run
1. The health condition of the victims of bullying, who are now 50 years old, tend to be worse in terms of mental and physical.
2. Their cognitive function is also lower compared to people who have never been victims of bullying.
3. The quality of life and the level of satisfaction of victims of bullying also tend to be lower than those of their peers who have never experienced any problems.

Finally, children who have been victims of bullying in their childhood tend to have difficulty socializing when growing up, because:
